Message from the Director
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Radiology Residency at Jacobi Medical Center, an affiliate institution of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Jacobi, a public hospital within the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, offers residents and medical students the opportunity to learn radiology while serving a diverse patient population with a wide variety of cases to learn from. Jacobi is a tertiary care center with a Level 1 trauma service (Trauma Center of Excellence) that serves residents of the Bronx and surrounding communities.
Our residents receive incredible hands-on procedural training in image-guided procedures and interventional radiology services. Residents are taught and mentored by fellowship trained, ABR certified specialists in all subspecialties of Radiology in our ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program. Our program is also certified for Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) for those residents interested in Interventional Radiology.
Jacobi has a rich history of resident education in Radiology and other medical specialties. Our residents gain remarkable insight through graded autonomy as they rotate through the various radiology subspecialties. This serves them well as they progress through the residency and on to fellowship or to the Radiology workforce. As a small program (5 residents/year) we are able to provide a supportive educational environment emphasizing resident education and wellness. Our goal is to provide our residents with a strong foundation in diagnostic radiology.
Our residents have access to all of the research facilities of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine located across the street. AECOM investigators are involved in basic science, clinical, and translational research. Our broad range of research opportunities, combined with nationally recognized clinical excellence enables our residents to make a meaningful impact on academic radiology.
I have had the honor of serving as Program Director for the last 10 years. I am extremely proud of our program and of our graduates. They are the best of the best. I look forward to welcoming you in person to our department and our radiology residency.
